Akhirnya setelah mencari sumber sana sini dan streaming susah payah karena dari Indonesia tidak bisa streaming akibat tidak adanya hak akses. Album terbaru Dream Theater akhirnya saya dapatkan kemarin melalui sumber-sumber terpercaya sebelum tanggal perilisan resminya ke seluruh dunia yakni 24 September 2013
Berikut sedikit informasi mengenai album terbarunya yang akan rilis bulan September 2013 ini :
Dream Theater is the upcoming
twelfth studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, scheduled to be released on September 24, 2013
via Roadrunner Records.[2]
Background
Preliminary
writing for Dream Theater's twelfth album commenced on the A Dramatic Turn of Events Tour in
April 2012. During soundchecks, the band would jam and record their ideas, and
guitarist John Petrucci would try out independently
composed material]They did not enter the recording studio until
January 2013, returning to Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, New York, where
they recorded their previous album, A Dramatic Turn of Events.
Recording concluded in May, and on June 6, the band announced that the new
album would be self-titled and released on September 24. Regarding the album,
Petrucci commented: "I see every new album as an opportunity to start
over. To either build or improve upon a direction that has been evolving over
time or to completely break new ground. This is the first self-titled album of
our career and there is nothing I can think of that makes a statement of
musical and creative identity stronger than that. We’ve fully explored all of
the elements that make us unique, from the epic and intense to the atmospheric
and cinematic. We’re incredibly excited about Dream Theater and
can’t wait for everyone to hear it." Petrucci also commented that the new
album's "ace in the hole" was Mike Mangini.
Composition
Dream
Theater will be the first Dream Theater album with Mike Mangini wholly integrated in the creative process
from the start; as John Petrucci programmed the drum parts on A Dramatic Turn of Events for
the writing process (Mangini was subsequently recorded playing parts that he
and the band (after listening to them) thought suitable for the final version).
Commenting on Mangini's work, Petrucci said: "When people hear the
drumming on this album, they’re gonna be pretty freaked out. On the last album,
he did a great job, but he wasn’t there for the writing process and he was
interpreting drum parts that I had programmed. Even though he used his
creativity, of course, to change them up and do his thing, I feel like now he’s
just Mike Mangini unleashed. It's all him. It's all his creativity, all his
decisions and ideas and man, the guy's an animal." [8]
The
album will feature an instrumental, the band's first album to do so since Train of Thought in
2003. Like previous Dream Theater albums, all ofDream Theater's songs
were given working titles during production.[10]
On
August 3, 2013, "The Enemy Inside" was announced on their official
Facebook page as the first single. USA Today made the song available for streaming on
August 5.
On
September 6, 2013, "Along For The Ride" was announced as the second
single to be streamed in various locations on September 9th, 2013.
On
September 15th, 2013, "The Looking Glass" was premiered on 102.3 WBAB
when Petrucci visited the station.
The
album was made available for streaming on September 16th, 2013.
